Jute is a natural vegetable fibre made from the outer stem and skin of the jute plant. Harvested fibres are spun into yarn which is then used to make reusable bags and other products. The plants are easily farmed without pesticides, and grow to maturity within 6 months. The material is biodegradable and compostable.

Limpopo Riverine Restoration Project

This project chooses to protect and replant areas of the riverine forest that has been destroyed and thus reestablish the important biodiversity of a riverine forest which includes the protection of special species like Pel’s Fishing Owl and Southern Ground Hornbill.
